The Children's Home of Wheeling, Inc. provides a temporary home, treatment and quality of life programming for male youth referred between the ages of 12 and 18 from throughout the state of West Virginia, who have been abused, neglected or have significant behavioral/emotional and social challenges.
Through individual, group and family therapy, self-esteem building activities, enriching experiences and educational support our residents have the opportunity to heal and maximize their potential.
We are committed to providing services to residents, no matter their race, color, age, disability, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or national origin.
GOALS
Our History
The Children's Home of Wheeling, Inc. was founded in 1870 as an orphanage to service the city's youth.
From 1870 until 1989, the organization provided services to males and females in need of residential placement. In 1989, the decision was made to concentrate our services on males.
